SATURDAY LATE POST
hey guys. long time no update yeah? life's been busy these days but i'm still doing fine i guess. its just that i reach home around 1am everyday. NO COMPLAINS though (i am not being sarcastic) cause i'm doing what i like. =))
yeah and i went to Fort Canning Park with greg the other day. here to post and tell you all about it. =DD
of course, in order to meet up with his majesty, greg, you will have to sacrifice some stuff to show your sincerity. well, for me, i had to accompany him to see the doc. hmm. EARLY IN THE MORNING. and which idiot friend of mine don't know i can never wake up in time. BUT I DID THIS TIME!i cannot emphasize this enough, but i do wake up on time, once in a while..
he's got some problem with his feet. i don't exactly know what but hope he'll recover soon. =))
after that, OFF WE GO!
first stop, FORT CANNING PARK!
i got my hands "chopped" by some random stamp we found along the road. its stupid but its not that ugly i guess! haha. looks like a temporary tattoo if you'd ask me. HAH!
then we came to this tunnel which is like kinda 'freaky' says greg. but the first thing that comes to my mind was.. The Cinderella story. hmm.. i dunno why but it give the kinda feeling like it leads to some secret room that cinderella was forced to stay in by her step mother. hmm. don't you think so?
and thats greg going down his 'freaky' stairs. after some walking, we decided to go down to the Singapore National Museum. somewhere AIR-CONDITIONED. its a hot day btw.
above is the very cool hanging lamps that swings in the air. its swings in a different pattern which changes every once in a while. amazing at first, but kinda lost interest after some time starring at it though. =/
this picture above is actually taken from a painting on the wall. its damn 3D right? if you didn't look carefully, you might think its actually 'live', like the shelves are there, BUT ITS NOT! its just a painting on the wall. damn cool eh?
above are the puppets you see in chinese puppets shows. i've always loved watching chinese puppet shows but seldom have the chance anymore. its like becoming extinct in singapore? maybe even the world?
haha! tiara for chinese princess in the olden times? NAH! props and accesories worn in chinese operas. beautiful ain't it.
and if only i own clothes like these in my wardrobe. haha. can you imagine? yeah. they're the costume for chinese opera singers. hmm. they sure look heavy to me. wonder how the opera singers manage to wear these costume and still able to sing out loud. not forgetting the thick make-up and all the strong spot light. uhhhh..
this would be the picture of the day. =DD with the 'WOW' camera skills i attained in my elective module i took in school, Exploring thg Photography, i'm able to capture this picture with just the correct flash intensity to create this light effect. hmm. BULLSHIT! the light effect is not created by me. haha!
well its a long day but still, i enjoyed that saturday out in the museum!
after that i went to meet liane and jearl in town. then back to yishun McCafe for supper which ended quite late. CAUSE we talked a lot. its always fun to be teasing each other. HAHA!
P.S: Jearl i know you're reading this, RETURN ME MY BRACELET! and remind liane about my green watch, IDIOT!
thanks jearl, liane and greg for the wonderful saturday!
yeah and we are called the NUBS. don't ask me why. jessica got us the name. ask her! haha! anyway, it steph, me, weijie, vanessa and jessica in the middle from left to right!
we'll still have to perform despite our strongest protest. reason being the crowd loves us. HAHA. i just know it.
not much of updates. nothing much happened in my life. VERY BUSY this week cause school reopen. hah! general meeting for NRA is tomorrow later this evening. lets see what are the plans for the club.
today's my grandmother's death anniversary. so i had to go to my uncle's place early in the morning to prepare praying.
they starting chatting about their kampong life. things like how they used to rear pigs, fool around in kampongs etc. the phone above is bought by my 6th uncle when they were still living in the kampong. and guess what. this phone is even older than i am! its more than 20 years old according to them. i wonder how they managed to cable the phone from such an isolated place. **kampong
then i realised how fun it could be to be living in my father's time. chasing chickens around and watching chinese operas. the lack of technology may bring inconvenience but lets look on the brighter side. dad and the rest are able to grow up without them. shouldn't be a problem for us too i guess? and i haven't mention how carefree life can be without having to mugg for exams.. whoohoo!
so today was family day for me. its only once in a blue moon i get to spend time with my relatives. =))
`what you said about death being celebration for the living is quite true i guess? we're much closer now as compared to before it happened. =//
i don't even remember the last time i had mac breakfast. hmm.
when was the last time you had yours? don't lie. i know that you, too, cannot wake up before 11am in the morning. unless you have some appointment that you cannot help being late for. HAHA! you're just like me i guess!
knowing that i always wake up late (*winks to Pandora, she knows best), i made the effort to stay up till 5am. JUST so i can have my McBreakfast. and i did not regret my decision. HA!
if only McDonald can extend breakfast menu time to like.. 4pm.
well below are pics taken when doing fyp in the lab. well, i guess working in the lab can still be fun.. ONCE IN A WHILE!
collected liquid nitrogen from the lab
freezing cold liquid nitrogen
poured some into the sink and it kinda made it foggg!
and here's pandora to the recue. ..
end of the day.. .. .
this is how i wrapped her lab coat =))
the liquid nitrogen was used to freeze competent cells we prepared today. =)
we ended our day at the lab late.. like close to 8pm. no one else was in our lab and we had 'fun' in the lab. shan't elaborate what we did in the lab. shall leave it to you imagination. =P who are the 'we' i mentioned you ask? ME AND PANDORA OF COURSE!
and i have to say, she's a great partner! LAB partner i mean =D
dance today was so cool. ann taught us the choreo to the song "The Way I Are" by Timbaland. whooh! i must say its one of the best choreo i've learnt man! i totally loved it. its way cool!
after class had funka group meeting. the tension is starting to get on me. don't know if the other memebers are feeling so. ??
can you imagine. haha. this is what the great life science student, LEE LYE HUAT does in school. the orange colour bands are actually DNA. this picture is taken under UV light showing the DNA we've extracted from cells. COOL EH? its just so pretty that i cannot help myself but to take a photo of it. hah!
went to Crazy Elephant for a drink today. there were some jokes they showed on the plasma TV there. wonder why they didn't use it to play MVs etc. hmmm. haha.
Q: Which guy in a nudist show is most popular among the crowd?
A: The who can carry 2 cups of coffee and a dozen of doughnuts.
Q: Why does Santa bears no child?
A: He only comes in a year and he comes through the chimney
Q: What's the similarity between a priest and a christmas tree?
A: The balls are just for decoration. (no offence! just a joke)
Q: Whats the difference between 'light' and 'hard'?
A: You can sleep with light on.
Q: When men talks nasty to a woman it means harrassment. What happens when woman talks nasty to man?
A: $3.99 a minute
above are some jokes i saw on Crazy Elephant. quite a nice place to chill i'd say. =)) Clark Quey near TCC. drinks are reasonably priced, nice ambience with live band 10pm onwards till late. NICE EH?
danced all day after fyp today. that is from 6 all the way till close to 12 midnight. almost missed the last bus home. phew.
first BTG for the kongsi award. then cha cha. then had dance class with ann till late. love to dance!
cha cha wasn't as bad as i thought. i mean i was super reluctant to go to cha cha class which i was kinda forced into going.
its a sponsored class which i heard some rich ex-ngee ann principal's wife paid for. 10 of us. for 2 months. imagine how much will it cost. 2K? and she is willing to continue the sponsorship after the 2 months trail period if we are interested. i love her man. please let me meet her. if i do, i'll make sure she becomes my sugar mummy. lol
i was like super bored while doing fyp today. i started folding origami from the C-fold towels (that cost 2 cents per piece according to eric) in the lab. i folded quite a few junks, left it on the table. went for lunch and when i came back, its all gone. all that is left is this. i think eric saw and threw them away. =x
